Dani Alves has become the fourth Barça player to arrive in South Africa for the Confederations Cup, while there was a shock on Thursday involving Sergio Busquets.
Almost everything is ready for the Confederations Cup to get under way, although not everybody is in the best pf shape. Sergio Busquets is an example of that. After 40 minutes the player was forced to retire from Thursday’s training session after just 40 minutes after pulling a muscle in his right leg.
Piqué not fully fit
Gerard Piqué also failed to complete the session. He has been out for two weeks with an injured thigh suffered at Riazor, an injury that meant he was sidelined for the friendly with Azerbaijan (0-6). But Carles Puyol was able to train properly, and took part in the final minutes of the game on Tuesday.
Alves last to arrive
Brazil and Alves were the last team to reach South Africa, having played two 2010 World Cup qualifiers this week. Their first game in South Africa is on June 15 in Bloemfontein.
